About Me

To start with the basics, I’m a twenty-something living in Surrey (England), I grew up in London but have escaped to a beautiful town in the countryside. I’m a foodie, though I suppose that goes without saying, and wanted to write about my experiences and opinions about food.

My food loves:
French food, particularly from Brittany and Normandy (following many a childhood holiday spent there)
Italian foood, especially all things pasta, my ultimate comfort food
Doing things 'properly', I don't believe in dumming down food and cheating short cuts but think the key to good cooking is good basic skills and a quality reference book

My food hates: I like to consider myself a good 'foodie' and try my best not be a fussy eater but I simply cannnot stand marmite, marmelade and mustard (though all have their place in cooking, yes I have noticed they all start with 'm',  odd)
Steak tartare - I have tried to like it, like a good foodie, never going to happen though
Badly written cookbooks

I am hugely interested in the alchemy of cooking and quality food. I’m a decent cook, who would like to be better and am always looking to try new things and test my abilities.

Thanks for reading
